The H L Brown presence has been part of Doncaster’s varied retail journey since the 1920s, when it joined forces with the Bell Brothers business established in 1781 by the well-respected watchmaker Joseph Bell, who worked for some time under the famous Thomas Mudge.

A major refurbishment took place in Spring 2023 and the store is now known solely as H L Brown Doncaster
